- ➤ BMW of North America set a new U.S. sales record in 2025 by selling 388,897 vehicles, up 4.7% from 2024+ Its plug-in hybrid sales increased 30.7% while BEV sales dropped, and the company will launch the new iX3 later this year. Spartanburg.com
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Local beef providers in West Greenville and surrounding Upstate areas report prices have risen nearly 15% since 2024 due to record-low cattle counts and a halt on imports from Mexico. Butchers say rising costs for processing and supplies are pushing holiday steak prices from $20 to around $30. Go Upstate
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spartanburg Water crews are repairing a waterline along Highway 221 near Elm Street today, so drivers are detoured via I-585, 85 and the 85 Business Loop. The repair work, following a December break, will last about 14 days for safety reasons. Go Upstate
- ➤ South Carolina residents will soon see a new license plate featuring a soldier with the Moultrie flag and the slogan 'Where the Revolutionary War Was Won' – a design replacing the blue palmetto logo ahead of the 250th anniversary of independence; DMV vehicle renewals will begin receiving the plate statewide.
