  • South Carolina Federal Credit Union is accepting applications for its 16th annual scholarship program that will award $60,000 to 10 qualifying students attending traditional or technical colleges for fall 2026.   • South Carolina confirmed its first pediatric flu death of the season in the Upstate as the new H3N2 subclade K strain fuels a severe flu season. Health officials urge residents to get vaccinated and practice good hygiene to help prevent further illness.  Go Upstate

  • Construction crews will break ground on the former Herald-Journal site downtown as free public parking ends Jan.4, according to city officials.
