ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Heavy snow is falling across the Upstate with Spartanburg set to receive 6 to 8 inches under a winter storm warning through 7 a.m. today, and several school districts along with Clemson University moving to e-learning for Monday while officials urge caution on icy roads.  The Post and Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • South Carolina health officials confirmed two additional storm-related deaths in Laurens County—an 85-year-old man on Wednesday and a 91-year-old woman on Friday—from hypothermia during last weekend's ice storm, raising the count to six, with fatalities also reported in Oconee and Charleston counties.  WYFF

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Sept. 5, Clemson football will face LSU in Baton Rouge for the season opener. The game marks the first meeting of coaches Dabo Swinney and Lane Kiffin and has Clemson as 10.5-point underdogs as both teams aim for a College Football Playoff spot.  Go Upstate
