  • Federal adjustments from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act may change tax return deductions for South Carolinians & tax experts advise waiting a week or two before filing. The Department of Revenue will update guidance when state lawmakers discuss conformity & taxpayers should adjust returns as needed.  WYFF

HEALTH NEWS

  • Spartanburg County’s measles outbreak continues as health officials report 876 confirmed cases statewide amid vaccine hesitancy. Drawing on George Washington’s 1777 decision to inoculate his troops, state leaders urge maintaining 95% vaccination rates to protect local communities.  Spartanburg.com
  • A nationwide photo contest remains open for voting after 6-year-old Emma Nowell, who has SMA and uses a wheelchair, was entered to help raise funds for ADA home improvements and her medical costs. Emma’s mother said winning will provide crucial support for making their home more accessible.  WYFF

  • South Carolina coach Shane Beamer backed Clemson coach Dabo Swinney’s call for a strict penalty on Ole Miss after allegations of tampering with transfer linebacker Luke Ferrelli emerged on Feb. 4. The NCAA will investigate the claim & a decision on penalties is expected soon.  Go Upstate
