  • On the Border’s Greenville location closed permanently on March 13, with no reason given on its website; the Tex-Mex restaurant at 74 Beacon Drive (right off the Pelham Road exit for I-85) was its only South Carolina spot.  WYFF

CULTURE NEWS

  • A photo collection revisits the 1990s in Spartanburg, Anderson, and Greenville by showing local concerts, sports, and daily life (including images of U2 and country music events) that capture the era’s style and spirit. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Spartanburg County School District 6 voters will decide on a $395 million bond measure to fund nine school projects aimed at easing overcrowding from rising enrollment. Early voting runs from March 16 to 27 — the final vote is on March 31.  Go Upstate

SPORTS NEWS

  • NASCAR icon Dale Earnhardt Jr. pledged to race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway if it reopens after the Pickens County Planning Commission denied demolition plans on March 9, and RealtyLink plans to reapply soon to preserve the historic track + local fans may soon see NASCAR excitement return.  Go Upstate
  • Jaiden Kelly-Murray, a top receiver (from Oceanside Collegiate), committed to the Gamecocks on March 13; his official visit is set for June 19 and he will join the 2027 class.  The Post and Courier
