- ➤ The Hub City Spartanburgers minor league baseball season opened at Fifth Third Park on April 3 with a fireworks finale after former area football player DeMarco Jackson threw the first pitch; fans enjoyed perfect spring weather during the opener. Go Upstate
- ➤ Race fans visited the historic Greenville Pickens Speedway in Easley yesterday and saw early race cars including a 1937 Flatback Ford driven by local racer David Pearson (winner of the 1959 track championship). Speakers urged the community to save the track built in the 1940s. Go Upstate
