  • Hatcher Garden is a community-supported urban garden at 820 John B. White Sr. Blvd that welcomes visitors daily during daylight hours for picnics and casual strolls. The preserve, started by Harold Hatcher and built with local volunteer help, continues to nurture local wildlife and nature’s beauty.  Spartanburg.com

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery, at 1097 Union St. along the Mary Black Rail Trail, will reopen in April with a full menu including hamburgers, sandwiches, shrimp & grits, and house-made pharmacy-style sodas. The team looks forward to welcoming local patrons back.  The Post and Courier

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wofford College's president-elect, Jay Dowd, will take office on July 1 + he plans to focus on boosting fundraising and building strong relationships to support a robust liberal arts education. Dowd, whose son graduated in 2023, values critical thinking and community ties in higher education.  Go Upstate

  • Ta'Niya Latson, in her one season with the Gamecocks, said she learned patience and improved her jump shot from coach Dawn Staley after a 79-51 loss to UCLA on April 5 in Phoenix, and she plans to carry these lessons into the WNBA draft on Monday, Apr. 13.  Go Upstate
