  • SATA, a 7-year-old black lab from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, is a finalist for the 2027 National Dogs of Law Enforcement Calendar. She has served since 2019 and completed roughly 250 searches, locating over 400 electronic storage devices (announced April 13).  The Post and Courier

  • Gas prices in South Carolina have risen to $3.826 per gallon after a U.S. blockade of Iranian ports began on April 13 — experts warn prices may increase further as oil supply tightens.  Go Upstate

  • A heat dome is pushing record 90° highs in Greenville, Spartanburg & Anderson today, with temperatures expected to reach the lower 90s through Saturday while a historic drought continues. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during these summer-like days.  Go Upstate
  • Honey bees boost local agriculture by pollinating crops that add millions to the state’s economy today. Experts warn the bees face threats from parasites and poor nutrition, so local beekeepers advise placing hives away from property lines to protect both bees and neighbors.  Spartanburg.com

  • MountainView Medical Imaging notified Upstate patients that mammograms taken from Jan. 8, 2024 to Feb. 11, 2026 may require repeat testing due to machine inspection failures (quality standard issues); patients should consult their providers as the facility will cover repeat costs at an MQSA-certified center.  WYFF
