- ➤ USPS announced it will refine service standards for first-class mail, periodicals, and package services in SC, keeping 75% of first-class mail at its current pace while 14% may arrive faster and 11% slower—proposed price hikes for letters, postcards, and extra ounces are set to take effect on July 13th. The agency said these changes will help save $36 billion over 10 years and might impact rural delivery if further privatization efforts happen. Go Upstate
- ➤ Residents in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida may file taxes later than April 15 because Hurricane Helene has delayed the deadline to May 1; taxpayers do not need extra paperwork and interest will not be charged during the extension—though any unpaid taxes after May 1 will begin to accrue interest.
