  • Walmart will invest $536 million to remodel 29 stores across South Carolina in 2026—upgrading pharmacies, expanding healthy food sections and improving digital shopping at locations like Boiling Springs, Clemson and Simpsonville.  Go Upstate

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Lyrid meteor shower peaks today with viewers expected to see 10 to 15 meteors per hour under dark skies statewide. Stargazers are advised to find low-light areas after the moon sets (1:30 a.m.) for optimal viewing.  Go Upstate

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Support the Spartanburg Bicentennial Clock Tower group urged county leaders to consider rebuilding the historic tower on the courthouse grounds instead of at Barnet Park. County administrator Cole Alverson said his staff will bring proposal details to council next month.  Go Upstate

SPORTS NEWS

  • Hub City Spartanburgers lost to Winston-Salem Dash on Tuesday morning during Education Day, with the Dash winning 4-3. Arturo Disla set a new record with five hits, and the Burgers will try to even the series on Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m.  Spartanburg.com
