ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Three Dorman High School students died Tuesday when a pickup truck hit a tractor—trailer turning left on Old Blackstock Road, with two students pronounced dead at the scene and one later dying at the hospital, leaving the school community reeling after a similar loss less than two weeks ago. - ➤ On Wednesday, the Roebuck community mourned the loss of three Dorman High School students—Aben Sisk, Daniel Diaz, and Itzel Garcia-Trejo—killed in a crash when their vehicle struck a semitruck at the intersection of Fairforest Clevedale Road and Old Blackstock Road; this tragedy followed a fatal crash on I-26 that claimed Dorman student Brady Murphy just a week and a half earlier. - ➤ Two women were charged with murder after 38-year-old Alexander Casull was found dead at WoodSpring Suites Hotel on Frontage Road in Duncan on April 17—police arrested Payton Deal and Latesha Fields in Pennsylvania after finding a stolen vehicle at a local Quality Inn, and they now await extradition to Spartanburg County. - ➤ The Spartanburg County Library secured a Revolutionary War flag preserved for over 200 years through an 18-month effort supported by private donors—its blue silk fabric carries 13 gold bars and images of a dog and a snake that mark the standard of the Spartan Regiment. The flag will be on display in Philadelphia for four to five more months before it is returned to Spartanburg. WSPA
