In Salem, neighbors held a drop-by parade for 12-year-old Brinlee Cannon who is leaving for a heart transplant on Sunday—her family said she spent months in the hospital and has asked for prayers as they plan a fish fry on June 7 to help cover medical costs.

The Harry Dallara Foundation and City of Spartanburg will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for two renovated youth ballfields at Duncan Park on May 3.
