A heavy police presence was reported in Chesnee when the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office responded to a man on his roof on Hummingbird Lane—he was experiencing a mental health episode.

USC Upstate opened its first food forest on campus as part of its Earth Day 2025 celebration, adding over 300 plants to nourish Spartan Pantry and boost agroforestry education.
