  • Univar Solutions will cut 99 jobs at the BMW manufacturing plant in Greer on June 28 (it will wind down onsite waste management services), affecting local workers in Spartanburg County.  Go Upstate
  • A new 7 Brew Coffee location is coming soon to Spartanburg as Demtek LLC tears down the car loan building on East Main Street (out with the old, in with the brew) with no set opening date yet.  WYFF
  • Cowboy Connection, a Boiling Springs store serving the community for 30 years, announced Tuesday on Facebook it will likely close in June. The owners invite customers to celebrate the remaining months and thank God for their blessings.  WYFF

CULTURE NEWS

  • Visitors to Cowpens National Battlefield learn about a key Revolutionary War victory led by Gen. Daniel Morgan; the park, at 338 New Pleasant Road, hosts reenactments and events like Legacy of the Cowpens on June 20 and Celebration of Freedom on July 4 as upcoming attractions.  Go Upstate

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gasoline prices rose 31 cents last week to an average of $4.48 per gallon Tuesday, driven by global supply issues as the Strait of Hormuz remains constrained and Iran-related export blocks add pressure + local pump costs have increased. Local drivers may see continued price hikes as the energy crisis persists.  WYFF

HEALTH NEWS

  • Independent pharmacies face steep losses as rising brand-name drug prices force small drug stores toward shutdowns and many patients endure medication delays & high costs. PEBA switched from Express Scripts to CVS Caremark to help over 700,000 public workers maintain access to necessary drugs.  WYFF

  • Dorman boys lacrosse beat Clover 11 to 10 in triple overtime after Colin Courier scored with 2.6 seconds left and Jaiden Kocak sealed the win. The team clinched the 5A Division 1 Upper State title.  Go Upstate
