- ➤ Mumford & Sons & Friends will perform at Spartanburg’s Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds on Aug. 4 as part of their Railroad Revival Tour. The tour, inspired by a 2011 theme honoring the great American railroad, will also stop in Charleston & Raleigh. WYFF
- ➤ After 250 years, a Revolutionary War flag from the Spartan Regiment will return to the county library system in early 2026—donated by a private entity for display in the Kennedy Room of Local History. The flag, featuring a dog, snake and 13 blue and gold bars, symbolizes the militia that gave Spartanburg its name. The Post and Courier

- ➤ South Carolina passed a law banning nonconsensual sharing of intimate images — the law sets penalties based on the crime's severity and includes an exception for law enforcement — Gov. Henry McMaster signed the bill on Monday. Go Upstate
- ➤ Spartanburg City Councilman Rob Rain, who has served District 2 since 2019, will resign in the coming weeks to join the S.C. Ports Authority board—nominated by Gov. Henry McMaster and confirmed unanimously on May 8. A special election will be held 13 weeks after his resignation—ensuring his seat is filled in time for ongoing local decision-making.
