- ➤ Retail giant Walmart will remodel its Boiling Springs, Clemson and Simpsonville stores later this year as part of a $536 million plan to upgrade pharmacies, digital services and product displays across South Carolina. - ➤ Updated figures show all counties remain in drought with about a third in extreme conditions although recent storms eased issues briefly — today high temperatures are expected with scattered showers until tomorrow, and a developing El Niño might lead to either a drier summer or more rain. - ➤ Southside Christian baseball won its fifth straight SCHSL title yesterday at Sabre Park — rallying to beat Oceanside Collegiate 8-7 in a best-of-three series sweep and joining only two teams with five consecutive championships. Go Upstate
- ➤ On May 28, Dorman baseball beat James Island 9-4 in Game 1 of the Class 5A-D1 state championship series at Dorman, with junior pitcher Connor Wells striking out six in five innings and freshman outfielder Carter Nash hitting the only home run.
