- ➤ The US Geological Survey recorded two small earthquakes in Union County Friday evening. A 1.8 quake hit at 6:05 p.m. with a depth of 4.2 miles and a 1.9 quake struck at 6:22 p.m. with a depth of 1 mile in Cross Anchor — 23 miles southeast of Spartanburg. WYFF
- ➤ After 2 to 4 inches of rain fell on Memorial Day weekend, severe drought conditions still affect the Upstate, and residents in Spartanburg are asked to conserve water. Officials say more sustained rainfall is needed to end the prolonged dry spell. The Post and Courier
