  • ➤ USC Upstate made its first NCAA Tournament appearance by winning the Big South title but lost 7–3 to Kentucky on May 31 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium—Kentucky coach Nick Mingione and others praised first-year coach Kane Sweeney for building a competitive team with 27 new players.  Go Upstate
