ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Upstate crews responded to a fire at Greer Diner (Trade Street) today; officials confirmed the blaze is contained with no injuries and the cause remains under investigation.  WYFF

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A new state law gives income tax credits for firms that turn landfill methane into renewable natural gas, which could let Spartanburg-based Pacolet Milliken upgrade its facilities to supply clean energy, with credits covering up to 25% of equipment costs that expire in 2030.  Spartanburg.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kindergarten teacher Jamie Bayne was named Amazing Teacher of the Month by Ingles and the Herald-Journal for her care that supports her students at school (she has taught at Jesse S. Bobo Elementary since September 2025).  Go Upstate

  • USC Upstate baseball ended a historic season on May 31 after a 12-1 loss to Oklahoma State in the Tuscaloosa Regional. The Spartans secured their first NCAA Tournament win earlier and claimed a second Big South Tournament title, showing resiliency & strength.  Go Upstate
