CRIME NEWS

  • Forest City Police arrested a man — Christian C. Campbell — and his girlfriend Acacia Ingle after a shooting at POP's Friday night that injured one person who was taken to Spartanburg Regional Hospital where the victim is expected to recover.  WYFF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Interim Sheriff Jeffery Stephens said he will phase out Operation Rolling Thunder (an annual drug sweep on Interstates 26 and 85 that tied up many resources) to restore trust in his office and requested SLED review the evidence room. He also announced an audit of the office's fiscal affairs and a review of its expensive aviation program (a measure to ensure proper use of tax dollars) while working to boost staff morale.  Go Upstate
