ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A small twin-engine Beechcraft carrying two people crashed on Saturday afternoon just over the South Carolina line when poor weather forced a change in its course—FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident near Old Dothan Road and the victims' identities have not been released. WSPA

- ➤ The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said one man was hurt after being shot on Interstate 85 right before midnight Saturday and is expected to be ok—an investigation is ongoing. WYFF
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Spartanburg has many events planned this week to celebrate Juneteenth and honor Black history – events include a photography exhibit at Wofford College tonight, a Black Market on Tuesday, a race seminar on Wednesday, live music downtown on Thursday, and both a gala with tickets at Chapman Cultural Center and free activities like a block party, festival, and parade on Friday and Saturday. Most events are free while the paid gala starts Friday with tickets at $76.54. The Post and Courier
- ➤ A new cultural monument honoring the Black history of Spartanburg’s Southside community was unveiled Saturday at the corner of Hudson Barksdale Boulevard and South Converse Street. Artist Jessica Scott-Felder designed the installation spanning 149 feet with state funding and private donations—featuring local musicians, athletes, and civic leaders who shaped the area. Go Upstate

- ➤ Atlas Real Estate Advisors, a Georgia-based firm, announced that it will begin renovating the former Pepsi plant at 729 S. Church St. later this summer with an estimated cost of $1–2 million.
