- ➤ At 10 p.m. Saturday night, Trinity Fire Department responded to a call in Woodruff when a tin barn on Dwight Scott Road burned and firefighters found a detached garage that the fire had spread to a two-story house — they requested extra engines and a ladder truck. WSPA

- ➤ A 17-year-old from Duncan, Nathaniel Fredericks, was shot and pronounced dead at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center at 2:47 a.m. after being brought in from Peachwood Center Drive in Spartanburg—an autopsy is scheduled for today. WSPA
- ➤ An intoxicated man identified as Zachary Hughes was arrested after a gun fired when he flagged down a Spartanburg officer on East Main Street early Sunday morning and led the officer to his vehicle after being kicked out of a local bar—he faces charges of public disorderly conduct, discharging a firearm in city limits, and using a firearm while intoxicated. - ➤ On June 16, Spartanburg County Council cut $103,000 from the sheriff’s helicopter program because leaders said former Sheriff Chuck Wright misused the equipment — officials explained that a half-million-dollar repair cost and missing features like a working night vision system led to the decision.
