  • Deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office are asking local residents for help to identify a man—whose vehicle was seen on surveillance footage and who is linked with thefts at new construction sites in the Lyman area.  WYFF
  • A man was hospitalized after he suffered at least one gunshot wound early Wednesday morning on Prince Street in Spartanburg County—deputies reported no public threat and no arrests have been made as the shooting remains under investigation.  WSPA

  • Spartanburg native Celia Weston, a veteran actress with a 40-year career including her breakthrough on 'Alice,' stars as Mama Margaret in Leanne Morgan’s new Netflix comedy 'Leanne,' streaming today. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A Gray Court homeowner is battling mysterious sinkholes that raise concerns for nearby properties and an active railway line — he filled a previous hole with over 60 bags of gravel and 80 bags of topsoil. Jeremy Welsh said the South Carolina Geological Survey will check his property next week — he remains alert as another sinkhole appears near his fence.  WYFF

  • The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office has asked the South Carolina Secretary of State to audit the Crime Stoppers program after an internal review discovered financial irregularities that could not be verified—Sheriff’s Lt.   • The South Carolina Department of Public Health reported 183 whooping cough cases statewide as of July 30, up from 147 last year—Spartanburg County recorded the highest number with 45 cases.  WYFF
