- ➤ A 7-month-old infant was shot while sleeping in bed with his mother at an apartment on Collins Avenue around 4:15 a.m. on August 3rd—police said the fatal shot came from outside the home. Go Upstate

- ➤ FabLogix, a pipe fabrication company, announced today a $9.8 million expansion in Spartanburg County to create 150 jobs at its new 150,000-square-foot facility in Duncan—operations are already online. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, Spartanburg County voters head to their assigned polling places to choose among nine candidates for sheriff and six for the council seat in district three; early voting attracted over 5,300 voters at one location. Polling runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. — two precincts have shifted their sites, with Roebuck now at Bethlehem Baptist Church and Morningside at St. John's Lutheran Church — and if no candidate wins over 50%, a runoff will be held on August 19. - ➤ South Carolina law requires drivers to stop for school buses with flashing lights or extended stop arms on any two-lane road and when driving behind on multilane highways — breaking these rules can lead to fines, jail time or felony charges if a serious injury occurs.
