ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Spartanburg man, 70-year-old Brian Dale Forrest, died in a motorcycle wreck on Interstate 26 near mile marker 14 on Friday — he was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just before midnight as state highway patrol and the coroner’s office began investigating the crash.  WSPA
  • The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office said one man died after a motorcycle crash on Friday around 11 p.m. on I-26 eastbound near mile marker 14, with 70-year-old Brian Dale Forrest pronounced dead at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  WYFF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The SJWD Water District lifted its boil water advisory for parts of Brookside Village yesterday after tests showed the water was safe for drinking and cooking—residents on Stone Drive no longer need to boil water—and those with concerns were urged to call customer service.  WSPA
  • Bill Rhyne and Rusty Clevenger spoke on Saturday at Chapman Cultural Center during the Brothers United For Change forum to answer community questions ahead of the sheriff runoff. Early voting starts next week from August 13th to 15th and the election to replace former sheriff Chuck Wright is set for August 19th—both candidates promised to boost community policing.  WSPA
