- ➤ On Thursday night — around 8:16 p.m. — Oconee 911 reported a head-on collision on S.C. Hwy 183 north of Walhalla that killed a 49-year-old Spartanburg County motorcyclist who suffered multiple blunt force injuries, with his identity set to be released Friday morning. WYFF

- ➤ After a shooting on Durham Place Road in Fairfield County left 37-year-old Laporsha Jasma Farr dead and another person injured, deputies arrested three men — the murder suspect, Jerry Jones, was taken into custody after a three-hour standoff in Greenville County. WYFF
- ➤ Spartanburg County troopers are asking for help after a hit-and-run incident on Ezell Road near Alan Ray Drive—where an unknown vehicle hit a pedestrian lying in the road from a previous scooter crash at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday—left the victim seriously injured. WYFF

- ➤ Miss North Carolina USA and Miss South Carolina USA Pageants have moved from Charleston to Spartanburg and will be held August 29—31 at Twichell Auditorium on the Converse University campus, led by Ariana Blaize and Quiana Reed under A Blaize Production.
