South Carolina’s first responders are mourning several heroes this week — Trooper Dennis Ricks died after being struck during a traffic stop on I-26 on August 9, Capt. The community also lost Chief Mark Holbrook and retired Lieutenant James Andy Brown of the Gantt District Fire Department, whose decades of service left a lasting legacy.
