- ➤ Plans for a new $25 million Bethlehem Center in Spartanburg’s Highland neighborhood are moving forward—construction will begin early next year on a donated vacant lot. The 42,000‑square‑foot facility will offer more than double the space of the old center and serve over 1,500 community members. The Post and Courier
- ➤ The Spartanburg County Foundation received a $100,000 grant from the AARP Foundation to help adults 50 and older still recovering from Hurricane Helene, and Mobile Meals of Spartanburg got $22,000 to offer free, shelf-stable meal kits to seniors who need them. Volunteers help deliver meals, cleaning supplies and medications—supporting over 500 residents and aiding long-term recovery. WYFF

- ➤ Former Rep. Trey Gowdy from Spartanburg will release his debut crime novel 'The Color of Death' on Aug. 26. He said the book focuses on the work of police and prosecutors without politics — drawing on his long career as a prosecutor. The Post and Courier
