  • Scott Sill launched South Carolina’s only mobile golf simulator that travels to events so anyone can enjoy golf regardless of skill level + bookings are available by phone + the service gives local fans a unique way to experience the game.  WSPA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At an August 25 city council meeting, Spartanburg officials discussed relocating the downtown clock tower to clear space for a new hotel and improved streetscaping — city manager Chris Story presented plans to dismantle the tower for display in a new government complex or move it to a new site, while some residents voiced concerns over losing a historic landmark.  Go Upstate

HEALTH NEWS

  • Viva Raw recalled six raw pet food offerings on Aug 26 after routine testing detected possible salmonella and listeria contamination—customers are advised to return any remaining product for a refund as no illnesses have been reported so far.  WSPA
  • Natalie Mertz almost backed out of buying her Greenville home after a radon test found levels nearly five times the EPA limit, which raised concerns that toxic gas and hidden mold can slowly harm residents—experts advise testing early and using certified professionals to ensure safety.  WSPA
