- ➤ On Sept. 23, 2025, Wofford College held a vigil in Mickel Chapel to honor Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University — the event drew a packed crowd and led to the official recognition of the college’s Turning Point chapter as flyers encouraged donations for his wife and children. - ➤ Spartanburg launched its SpartaGo microtransit pilot program last week to help residents travel downtown and surrounding areas—riders enjoy four free trips before paying a flat fee of $2 per ride. The Post and Courier
- ➤ The South Carolina Office of Resilience opened four new offices in the Upstate to help residents recover from Hurricane Helene. A new office opened yesterday in Spartanburg to serve residents in Spartanburg, Laurens, Union, Chester, York and Cherokee counties—offering walk-in disaster case management and free repair services while mobile intakes continue.
