- ➤ Female high school students from across the Upstate took part in a music composition workshop on Sunday to retell the life of Revolutionary War heroine Laodicea 'Dicey' Langston. Peter B. Kay with the Spartanburg Philharmonic and musicians from the Greenville Symphony Orchestra helped the students turn sound ideas like rushing water into music, and the piece will be completed in April 2026.
