EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The South Carolina Department of Education released its report cards showing that most Spartanburg County schools exceeded the state's graduation rate for 2025, with District 1 schools at Chapman and Landrum reaching over 94% while Spartanburg High and Woodruff High trailed at 84.3% and 78.8% respectively—indicating an overall county rate of 89%. Lower income student graduation improved to 84% from 79.9%, and experts noted that early childhood literacy is a key factor as third-grade reading proficiency sits at 61%. Go Upstate

- ➤ Cherokee County voters are deciding today on a referendum to raise taxes and add paid firefighters at the Macedonia Fire Department.
