ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • South Carolina will face dangerously cold weather this weekend, so residents are urged to follow the 4 P's — check on neighbors, bring pets indoors, insulate pipes, and protect plants from frost damage.  WYFF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Wellford Police department announced today that parts of East Greenville Highway — all four lanes of Highway 29 — will be closed from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for hazardous tree removal; officials urge drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time to reach their destinations.  WSPA
  • On Saturday, families, friends, veterans and new Marine recruits gathered at Semper Fi Barn in Central to mark 250 years of Marine Corps history with a birthday cake cutting, a tribute to POW/MIA soldiers, and dog tags hung to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice—serving as a reminder of the service that protects our freedoms. Marine Sergeant Major Francis Asbury Lawton V escorted veterans and shared that keeping these memories alive helps honor the legacy of the armed forces.  WYFF
