EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Spartanburg County Public Libraries held the grand opening of the new Planetarium Learning Center on November 11 at the Headquarters Library in downtown Spartanburg. The 28,000 square-foot center features a 50-foot-domed theatre — with 135 seats — and the Kitty Black Perkins Maker Lab, which honors local innovator Kitty Black Perkins. Spartanburg.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Spartanburg voiced frustration at a crowded November 10 town hall over longstanding delays and traffic issues on the Country Club Road walking and bike path project, which has been slowed by unexpected utility problems. DOT officials said work will speed up soon — with the project expected to finish by the end of 2026 to connect parts of the 55-mile Daniel Morgan Trail System. Go Upstate
