- ➤ City officials moved a nearly 40-foot cedar tree from Old City Cemetery to Denny’s Plaza for the Dickens of a Christmas event after it was damaged by Hurricane Helene. Community members are upset and want more town input while officials will plant a new tree—teams used ground-penetrating radar to ensure no graves were disturbed. WYFF
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A gas leak near Chesnee led to the closure of Battleground Road from Highway 221 to Old Airport Road, and Chesnee and Mayo Fire Departments responded to the incident. Officials advise drivers to use alternate routes — the area remains off limits pending further updates. WSPA

HEALTH NEWS

- ➤ The BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament will be played at the Country Club of Spartanburg in 2026—replacing its longtime host, Carolina Country Club. The event will continue to use the Thornblade Club in Greer and is expected to draw 45,000 spectators. The Post and Courier
