- ➤ Governor Henry McMaster announced Monday that South Carolina will lower or maintain its unemployment insurance tax rates for 2026, saving employers $40 million in UI tax costs compared to 2025. The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce said rates will range from 0.06% to 5.46% based on each business's past claims — the state continues to support a competitive business climate. WSPA

- ➤ A Greer couple hosted a fundraiser on November 18 at Rigsby's Classic Rock Cafe on West Main Street in downtown Spartanburg to raise funds for a gene editing procedure intended to treat their two children who have a rare genetic disorder that causes seizures—if successful, the funds will allow both children to be treated as part of a sibling study. - ➤ South Carolina health officials reported five new measles cases, increasing the Upstate total to 49 while 84 people were in quarantine.
