- ➤ Spartanburg Regional Health System safely accepted an infant surrendered under Daniel’s Law after the baby was born on Nov. 26 with a weight of 5 lb 15 oz and a length of 18.31 inches. The child has been placed in licensed foster care—a permanency planning hearing will be held on Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. to determine next steps. WYFF
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Seven new measles cases were reported in the Upstate last Friday—six were household contacts and one was from a school exposure—while officials reported that people at a Spartanburg Costco on West Blackstock Road who visited on Tuesday, November 18 between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. may have been exposed. Health officials advised anyone not vaccinated who develops fever, cough, or red eyes to call their doctor immediately. WSPA

- ➤ Senior running back MJ Earll rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns as Belton-Honea Path beat Powdersville 35-7 on Nov. 28 in the Class 3A Upper State semifinal— the team will face Oceanside Collegiate at noon on Dec. 5 for the state championship. Go Upstate
- ➤ South Carolina football hosts Clemson at Williams-Brice Stadium today at noon ET in a season-ending rivalry game as the Gamecocks rely on LaNorris Sellers and an improved offense under interim play-caller Mike Furrey — while Clemson copes with injuries to quarterback Cade Klubnik. Go Upstate
- ➤ Dorman football ended its season on Nov. 28 with a 30-10 loss to Dutch Fork in the Class 5A-D1 SCHSL semifinals at Dutch Fork High School + an early 10-0 lead faded after an interception shifted the game.
