- ➤ Many Upstate grocery stores and retailers will have reduced hours on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day. Shoppers in the area are advised to run errands early + complete purchases before the limited holiday hours begin. Go Upstate

- ➤ Spartanburg offers free local attractions from downtown window shopping (with stops at the Chapman Cultural Center) to outdoor strolls at the Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve, along with free BMW Zentrum tours and a railroad museum that honors the city's heritage. Spartanburg.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spartanburg Water is shutting off water today from 8 a.m. to about 2 p.m. for a rerouting project along several local roads (including Worden Dr. and Brixton Ct.), and affected customers must boil water until tests confirm safety. WYFF
- ➤ Downtown bar Blues Boulevard Jazz and Cigar Lounge had its liquor licenses suspended on Sept. 4 and was cited on Dec. 11 by SLED for possessing 1.75-liter bottles + the club operator said it is preparing to resume normal operations once compliance requirements are met. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Ticks are active year-round in the state, and lone star ticks are most common even though deer ticks are more active in spring and fall when temperatures rise above freezing. Residents are advised to wear long clothing, use repellent, and check for ticks after time outdoors. Go Upstate
