CULTURE NEWS

  • Kwanzaa organizers held a joyful event at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church in Spartanburg on Friday, Dec. 26 that showcased music by Loretta Holloway and included community development awards. The event runs from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 * honoring African American and Pan-African heritage, family and unity.  Go Upstate

HEALTH NEWS

  • South Carolina DPH reported three new measles cases from a recent school exposure, bringing the Upstate outbreak total to 156 and overall cases to 159 this year. A total of 252 people remain in quarantine and three in isolation until Jan. 15 as officials urge vaccination and prompt care.  WYFF

SPORTS NEWS

  • Quarterback Cade Klubnik ended his Clemson career with a 22-10 loss to Penn State at the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 27 — cold weather and dropped passes marred his final game. He finished with a record 902 completions and is projected to be a middle-round NFL Draft pick.  Go Upstate
