Union County Carnegie Library Board Meeting

About this event

As a public body, the Union Library Board of Trustees recognizes patrons who wish to provide input at regular and special called meetings.

• There shall be one public comment segment at each board meeting.

• Patrons must be residents of Union County to speak.

• A patron may speak up to three (3) minutes; however, the entire public comment time shall not exceed 30 minutes.

• The request to provide public comment must be requested by noon the day before the board meeting. Requests to address the Board should be sent to board@unionlibrary.org or via mail to 300 E. South St. Union, SC 29379.

• Due to the time allotted for public comment, no audio or visual presentations will be accepted.

• No signs or placards will be allowed while participating or attending the board meeting.

• Requests that are not received by noon the day before the board meeting, will be considered for the next board meeting.

• Patrons may be permitted to present input to the Board virtually.

• At the meeting, the patron will sign in with name and contact information (zip code and email address).

• The Board Chair will announce public comment, state the rules governing public comment, and recognize speakers. If a patron intends to speak on behalf of a group, association, or community, this must be included in their request to speak and also reiterated prior to addressing the Board.

• There will be no verbal response from the Board regarding public comments.

• The timer will begin when the patron states their name. If the patron has specific requests or questions relating to their input, they will be asked to write those down and submit them via the above contact information.

• All patrons providing input must adhere to the Union Library Code of Conduct at all times during the board meeting.
