Good morning, Spartanburg.

USC Upstate baseball won its second straight Big South Tournament title on May 24 by beating Longwood (8-1) at Gardner-Webb's John Henry Moss Stadium, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament regionals.

The Spartans reached the championship game for the fourth straight season.

Eastside boys soccer won the state championship on penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie in regulation and four overtime periods (goalie Brandon Jaramillo made the winning save).

A poll is underway to choose the best high school boys athlete of the week in the Upstate, highlighting standout performances—from baseball to soccer—made from May 18—24.

Voters can cast multiple votes until the poll closes at noon May 28.
